Join Ruben Yon’ton at Oakmere Events!
29th and 30th August 2026
Rubén Yon’ton Vucubcame is a Mesoamerican Mexica Anahuaca Ritual artist, developing a project called “Origin Te Yon’ton - Origin of the Heart”
That focuses on using channeled art for the well-being of the being. Taking into account that everything is frequency and vibration, sound and its resonance can be used to transmute the polarities of the being, in this way Origin Te Yon’ton is an Immersive Ritual Atmospheric Sound Ambient experience using Tehotihuacan ritual wind instruments (central Mexico), guided by the beating of the Drum, atnospherized in voice and Om'pak (Mayan Trumpet).
Origin Te Yon’ton invites us to become aware that we are part of a whole, each one of us being a thread that weaves the Cosmic Web beating and being the same Heart remembering the Origin of that beating that we share together.
The Art of Ritual, Ritual in Art / Experimental Atmospheric Sound Ambient Experience. The development of this exploration in sound and expression through art, cultivating creativity to CREATE, through workshops and practical exercises, is the objective that the participant empowers his own creative energy
• WORKSHOP FREQUENCY & VIBRATION(Exploration of the Power of Voice Resonance)
• RITUAL SOUND JOURNEY (Experience Atmospheric Sound Ambient RitualExperimental)
• DRUM BIRTH (This workshop gives to participant the opportunity to create a Drum Chimalli-Huehuetl)
Chimalli-Huehuetl Drum CreationInspired by the Mesoamerican ritual floor Drum called Huehuetl, this workshop offers you the opportunity to create your own hand Drum Chimalli-Huehuetl.
The Chimalli-Huehuetl is a contemporary drum used in ritual dances. "Chimalli" in Nahuatl language is the shield used by ancient jaguar and eagle warriors, and "Huehuetl" is the ritual drum, giving birth to the design of this type of Drum.
The creation and birth process takes 10 hours. Materials are provided: skin, wooden Frame, and rope. These vital energies that make up the drum are called "Tonalli" ~ the energy and heart of the Tree and the Animal, merged into one heart with you.
Participants should bring fundamental tools with them. Bringing your suitable tools will facilitate a better and smoother process.
- Sharp knife (any type of knife works, a Stanley knife is very functional). Ensure your knife is sharp.
- Hammer (size doesn't matter; comfort and functionality are key)
.- Gloves (gardening gloves are ideal).
- Ratchet Secateurs (ensure they are of good quality).
- Scissors (regular kitchen scissors are ideal).
- Head Lamp (your phone's flashlight can work, but a Head Lamp is recommended for practicality)
.- Yoga Mat or something to sit on at ground level for comfort.
- Food and drink for yourself or to share. As we'll be spending approximately 10 hours, bring what you need to keep your stomach happy and enhance your performance during your drum's birth.
DRUM BIRTHThe birth of a drum begins its gestation when your mind decides to answer the call of the drum with a single heart. Join this unique experience of creation and connection with ancestral rhythm!
